Yusuf Bahadır Turhan was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1982 He graduated from Ankara Ataturk Anatolian High School in 2000 as valedictorian while ranking first in the National University Entrance Exam same year. He received his BSc degree from Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2004 as salutatorian. Later, he continued his Electrical Engineering education at Stanford University with full scholarship. During his graduate work, Mr. Turhan focused on solid-state electronics and RF Circuit Design in Ginzton Laboratory. After receiving his MSc degree in 2006, he worked as a design engineer in ASELSAN A.Ş., the biggest defense sector company of Turkey, for more than 4 years. Leaving ASELSAN in 2010, he founded and bootstrapped YBT Energy believing in the future of humanity on our planet depends solely on renewables. Since then, he designs, licenses and realizes renewable energy power plants. He is the proud owner of six hydroelectric and solar power plants in operation in Turkey. His most recent investment, the Hamal SPP in Sivas, which is one of the very few licensed SPPs in Turkey, received the prestigious Gold Standard certification. With YBT Energy, he also spearheads the development of new geothermal, wind and biomass power plants in Turkey.
Mustafa HERDEMVİCE PRESIDENT
He was born in 1979 to a family of tradesmen in Kayseri. In 2002, he graduated from Fırat University,
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. After working as a site manager in the private
sector for three years, he established his own company in 2005 to operate in the same sector.
Following the failure of his first commercial venture, he was enlisted to complete his military service.
After his military service, he worked as an electrical department manager in the private sector for
three years, then established Else Energy in 2011, a company that has achieved great success in
Turkey’s renewable and sustainable energy pursuit. With Else Energy, he has completed turnkey
installation of 275 MW Solar Power Plant (SPP) and has also achieved 17 MW SPP investment until
In 2019, he decided to restructure and determined Else Energy’s field of activity as foreign solar
energy market. Afterwards, he established Elseroof Energy and Heran Energy companies with his
employees to operate in EPC, online sales and digitalization in energy fields in Turkey’s solar market.
Currently, he has gathered the conglomerate of six companies under the umbrella of Gumbel Group
and works as a chairman of the board. He is married with two children and is a licensed sailing

Artun İstepan Şabciyan
Yıldız Technical University - Electrical and Electronics Faculty Undergraduate, he completed Istanbul Technical University Electrical Engineering Master's programs. He worked in the field of industrial automation as a salesman and technical engineering positions in permanent magnet servo motors and drives between 2000-2010. He was in the section manager position of alternative energy section in Turkey unit from 2010 until 2018 in Switzerland-based Staubli Company which is the leading company in global mechatronics. He works as a salesman and business development manager responsible for Eastern Europe, Turkey and the Middle East in Staubli Electrical Connectors Company last 2 years. He has considerable knowledge on all photovoltaic connection equipment from solar panel to inverter and he continues to work on solar investor, project developer, engineering-installation-procurement firms, in particular of OEM PV panel / inverter manufacturers. He served as a board member of the Gensed between 2013-2019. He is still a board member in Solar3GW and Gunder as well as still a member of the committee in Germany-based JFS4 (Joint Forces for Solar) about photovoltaic BOS (balance of system).
ÖZLEM EGE POLATVİCE PRİSİDENT
Özlem Ege Polat provided legal advice to national and multinational clients from diverse sectors in M&A transactions and participated in each stage of the transactions such as due diligence, negotiation and closing phases. She has extensive experience in drafting legal documents required during the transaction and in energy law matters. Mrs. Ege especially specializes in energy law and advices national and international energy companies and investors regarding electricity energy regulatory, drafting and negotiation of energy trading agreements (included but not limited to EFET Agreements), licensing procedures and representing the clients before the courts and relevant regulatory bodies. She advises our clientele in their day to day business in a continuous manner.
Mrs. Ege graduated from İstanbul Bilgi University in 2007 and obtained her LL.M. degree from University of Cologne in 2011.

He was born in Wuppertal in the state of Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany in 1980 and grew up there. He completed his secondary and high school education (Abitur) in 1999. He completed his undergraduate education in 2006 at RWTH AACHEN University - Mechanical Engineering Department. Between 2006 and 2007, he completed his master's degree at the RWTH University Beijing Institute of Technology in China, which was the partner school of the university he studied at that time. Between the same years, he worked as a trainee in JXT Precision Electronics Technical Co., Ltd. company which is the leader in electronics sector in Jiangsu Suzhou. Between the years of 2008-2010, he worked as Quality Manager in Conergy, one of the largest panel manufacturers in Germany. He worked in the R&D Department of the same company between 2010 and 2012 as a result of this company starting to produce inverters with its own brand.
Tastan, who is working in GoodWe Power Supply Technology Co., Ltd. company since 2012, started his career in the R&D Department at first and later, he continued his career with Sales Department. His current density in the sales strategy and market focus is located in Turkey mostly, but also he is active in the solar projecting and market development issues of Middle East. He still continues to serve as CEO of both GoodWe Turkey and GoodWe Ukraine companies.
Tastan speaks German, English and Turkish very well and he also speaks intermediate level Chinese. Since Tastan has been operating in the solar energy sector for many years; he is highly experienced in product, quality, sales and project development issues and continues to transfer his experiences to his team.
Within the scope of social responsibility; Tastan provides scholarships to various students both locally and globally. In addition, he continues to support many associations and organizations as a devoted animal lover.
Orçun, having 10 years of experience in renewable energy with a focus on photovoltaics, is the Founder & Managing Partner of Solarian, a prominent solar power technical consultancy firm in Turkey. He had participated in technical assessments of solar power plants and designed projects. In addition; he participated in technical due diligences of many major M&As. Currently he manages the solar portfolio of many major holdings in Turkey and develops solar power projects in neighboring countries. Orçun has a BSc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University and MSc. Software and Systems Security from University of Oxford.
GONCA DÜLGER BEDELOĞLUMEMBER
She completed her education as a Physics Engineering in Gaziantep University in 2015 by taking 100 % English language of instruction. She successfully submitted her undergraduate thesis to Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality by completing her thesis the name of "Sustainable Photovoltaic Systems in Public Areas". She started her master's degree at the Ege University in 2015. In the following years, She started to work as a researcher in the FV module calibration laboratory at the Fraunhofer Solar Energy Institute in Freiburg, Germany that is the largest solar energy research institute in Europe. She worked on bifacial PV modules test fields during 2 years in Germany and published international article on this topic. She successfully completed her master's of science thesis name of ‘Uncertiınty Analysis For Power Rating Measurement Of Photovoltaic Modules’ After came back to Turkey with Süleyman Bedeloğlu ,he is Electrical and Electronics Engineer, she established the company of “ProjeX Enerji Elkt. Müh. San. Ve Tic. Ltd. Şti.”. Now she is the co-founder of ProjeXsolar and developed many micro and macro solar projects all around the Turkey since 2017, she has realized 200 MW project and 50 MW solar field installation. She has also completed the first bifacial car park project in Bodrum, Turkey.In addition to be a young woman entrepreneur, she is a member of ‘Business Women’s Association of Antalya’ , representative of Mediterranean Region ‘Turkish Women of Renewable Energy and Energy Sector’ and board member of Solar3GW.
Cihan has more than 13 years of experience in renewable energy project development and investments in Europe, Middle East and Asia regions. His expertise covers utility scale greenfield wind and solar PV business development, project management, asset management, renewable energy financing and power sector M&A activities. Currently, he is the Managing Partner of RENICOP, which provides comprehensive consultancy services in solar PV and wind power investments. Cihan got his Electrical and Electronics Engineering B.Sc. degree and Economics MA degree from Bilkent University.
An energy economist with degrees from Istanbul, Bergen and St. Gallen, he was fortunate to start his career in 2008 at Europe's biggest renewable energy company, Statkraft of Norway. He has experienced the coupling of European power markets, post-Fukushima events, the renewable boom, the crush of merit order and many others while he was working as a cross-border power trader in Düsseldorf, Germany. In 2012, Servet was appointed as the managing director of Statkraft trading in Turkey and the task was to establish trading and origination businesses in the country. After the successful delivery of the task, he joined the forces with two other partners and co-founded Pure Energy in 2016, which turned out to be a passion rather than a company. That passion later gave birth to the first fully renewable and automated Virtual Power Plant in Turkey. Besides the time that Servet spends on Pure Energy, he enjoys sharing the knowledge with industry peers, college students and public throughout conferences, workshops, and lectures. He is a proud member of the Future Energy Leaders (FEL-100) community of the World Energy Council, a board member at the Energy Traders' Association and he serves as an advisory board member in various organizations.Regarding the work-life balance chapter, he claims that he is able to blend work and life together yet to date, he was not able to convince any family member. Happily surrounded by three ladies at home he is enjoying the fantastic journey of raising two adorable daughters with his wife Janset.
ÖZGE ÖZEKESECRETARY GENERAL
In the last 10 years of over 18 years of work experience, Özge has worked as a senior consultant at Frost & Sullivan, one of the leading global research and consultancy firms, and Turkey's team leader in environmental and building technologies business unit. In the past, she worked in various roles in the advertising, communication and audit sectors, as well. She has been continuing her consultancy and research services within Oculus Insights for the last 1 year and has been working as the General Secretary at Solar3GW since its establishment. As a project manager and consultant, she has considerable experience in market opportunity assessment, market opening strategy, competitive analysis and at the both local and globals levels benchmarking partnership research and evaluation processes. Özge has conducted research related about solar energy, wind energy, renewable energy services, waste-to-energy, and smart grids, energy generation and distribution, energy such as low voltage products and generator sets, environment and building technologies. Also she wrote market analysis and evaluation reports and made researches. Özge received bachelor of Finance degree from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, Finance, and MBA degree from Bilgi University.
